Pinnacle leaving Sweden: what applies to you if you have an account

What has happened, date by date

On 1 October 2026, Swedish customers received an email from Pinnacle. After a decision within the company, it is no longer possible to deposit money or bet on pinnacle.se. New accounts cannot be opened. The account would stay open so that you could log in as usual.

The next email came on 13 October. Pinnacle is leaving the Swedish market and your account will be closed. If you have money left, you need to log in and request a withdrawal by 9 November 2026.

Pinnacle writes that it is trying to pay back remaining balances automatically to the payment method you deposited with. If that does not work, the money is deposited with Länsstyrelsen i Stockholm, the County Administrative Board in Stockholm. The money is yours even after 9 November.

Pinnacle has not given any reason for the decision. Nor does the email say on which day operations in Sweden end completely. We update this page when the company or Spelinspektionen says anything new.

Do this before 9 November

Log in and request a withdrawal of the whole balance. Do not wait for the automatic repayment. It is an attempt, not a promise. Check that the payment method you deposited with still works. If it does not, contact Pinnacle's customer service before you request the withdrawal.

Download your betting history while the account still exists. Anyone who measures their closing line value needs the odds they bet at and the closing odds. After the account closes, that data is gone.

If you miss the date, the money is not gone. According to the email, the balance still belongs to you. In the worst case, you collect it from Länsstyrelsen i Stockholm, the County Administrative Board in Stockholm. That takes longer and requires more paperwork, so make the withdrawal now.

The register shows a licence until 2028. That does not mean it is operating

In Spelinspektionen's register, Pinnacle's licence holder PinBet Sverige Limited is listed with a licence for commercial betting on pinnacle.se. The licence is valid from 26 February 2025 to 25 February 2028. That is how it looked on 21 October 2026. Pinnacle's Swedish terms and conditions, version 2.5 dated 16 October 2026, still refer to the same licence.

The register states licence status, not whether the company accepts bets. A licence can stay in place until the company hands it back or the authority revokes it. That is why lists based on the register can still show Pinnacle as a Swedish bookmaker.

On our pages the register always decides licence status, so Pinnacle stays listed as licensed until the register changes. Where it matters, we state that the company does not accept bets.

Why Pinnacle mattered to the sharp bettor

Pinnacle built its business on a low margin and on not limiting those who win. The company's own slogan was that winners are welcome. For anyone who does the maths on expected value, this was unusual: a bookmaker where a sharp account was allowed to survive.

Pinnacle's closing odds have therefore long been the reference when sharp bettors measure their closing line value. Odds that beat Pinnacle's price at kick-off count as a good price, however the match ends.

That reference does not go away because pinnacle.se is closing. Pinnacle still exists outside Sweden and its prices show up in odds comparisons. What goes away is the chance to bet at that price yourself from a Swedish account.

Where do you put your money now? Smarkets is the only betting exchange with a Swedish licence

Smarkets holds a licence for commercial betting on smarkets.com and betsbk.com through the licence holder Smarkets Malta Limited. The licence is valid from 30 June 2026 to 29 June 2027. Betfair, Matchbook and Betdaq are not in the register. If you want to bet on an exchange from a Swedish account, Smarkets is the only choice today.

On an exchange you bet against other bettors. You pay a commission on net winnings instead of a margin in the odds. The price on a liquid exchange is close to the market's fair odds. The exchange does not limit those who win. Liquidity on Swedish leagues is thinner than at Pinnacle, so expect a worse price on small markets.

How to read the market price without Pinnacle

The market's fair odds can be calculated without betting at Pinnacle. Our system calculates the fair price for each match and shows where a Swedish bookmaker is above it. That is the basis of value betting and arbitrage.

The match pages in the odds comparison save the closing odds after kick-off. There you can measure your own bets against the market's last price, without an account with a reference bookmaker. Anyone who wants to do the maths themselves will find the formulas under expected value and the Kelly criterion.
